Hildegarde Cashmere

$40.00

Hildegarde’s downy undercoat is spun into 100% fingering yarn that is fine, soft and lightweight yet provides excellent warmth. Hildegarde’s Cashmere is luxurious and highly prized for skin hugging accessories such as hats, cowls and mitts. Her yarn will continue to bloom leaving an angelic halo that becomes fuller over time.

Hildegarde grows a double fleece to protect and insulate her during the cold New England winters. Come mid-March, she sheds the downy coat, which is hand-combed, a process that takes up to three weeks. Hildegarde’s diet of Timothy Hay, Caprine Challenger, meadow grass and snacks of poison ivy make for a healthy coat. Her beautiful cashmere is spun into luxurious yarn by Still River Fiber Mill of Connecticut.

Hildegarde Cashmere can be used alone or held together with another yarn for a splash of color, added sheen and luxury.
